e.

Because Pi is just a number which you need if you want to find answers to specific problems (e.g Find the area of a circle with radius 2). It is thus enough to know it exists for every proof.

e on the other hand is better thought of as a function, and can be used to prove much more general theories.

Pi, but only 'cause it looks cooler written out and I know it to more decimal places than I do e. 3.1415926535...... and that's it.

I shall now go out for a quick perambulation around the neighborhood to catch some solar rays. Stop telling me my post isn't good enough, you imbecile.

Pi is incredibly useful, and I really like circles. Also, e brings back memories of Calc BC, which is something I'd rather forget.

The ghost who posts the most is toast. The northernmost parcel post almost goes to the innermost provost who boasts about his pot-roast.

Pi all the way.  It's just more fun.  You can say "I want some more 3.14, please," but you can't be witty with e.  lol

Is this long enough yet?

I'll go with Pi...cooler symbol, it was an awsome movie (Darren Aronofsky, check it out if you haven't seen it), and you've got pi day (march 14 of course).

On pi day you get to eat pi, on e-day, what would we do? take ecstacy?

22/7 approaches pi, but is nowhere near the exact number, as the number is irrational and/or gay. Wham.

Damn gay hippy irrational numbers. With their long hair and rock music.

I dunno...I'm not mathmatecian, I just like it because it sounds like a food.

haha me too. Once, in like... idk, 6th grade, me and a friend sat there and wrote this huge long page of pi before we got distrcted. It just goes on FOREVER.

also, i chose pi because i have never heard of e.

ever.

in my whole life.

so... yeah. also, it has a nifty little sign. you just HAVE to love that sign. It reminds me of the ones for paragraph indentations in english..

Personally, Pi is my favorite. I'm not a huge math person, but I've always found Pi interesting. I think that Pi is going to win, simply because of the symbol. It is a pretty cool symbol.

Pi takes the cake.

I'd have to say that pi is my favorite, not because of any special reason other than it reminds me of one of my favorite desserts.

Well seeing how it is that my post wasn't long enough. I think I'll just ramble about blatantly until I have enough words to fill the Livewire Intellectual word quota.

I like e.  Maybe I'll go and campaign for an e day.

Although I will admit that pi is used much more often than e.  Maybe I'm just rooting for the underdog.

I'm with you on that one

e comes in handy in all sorts of more complex mathematical situations

it has so much potential, like there is already a pi day, but there could be a e day as well!

I prefer e, solely for the reaosn that I despise geometry and circles. E is much less commonly used, a very good thing in math in my humble opinion. Booo pi. Cake is better anyways.
