I know a small population of people have rare gifts involving ESP such as telepathy or clairvoyance.
No, they don't.
Does anyone know if you can genetically pass these abilities along or is it another one of those unactivated genes?
Sure, maybe, if ESP existed. Unfortunately, it doesn't.
Is it just me, or do you think that the mind is pretty amazing? Since we barely use 10% of its full capacity, think of what wonders lie locked away and untapped.
Common misconception. We do in fact use all of our brains; we just don't use all of it at any given time.

Is there any proof that ESP doesn't exist?
Prove that there are not invisible, intangible unicorns circling your head at great speeds. Oh, you can't? Certainly, then, we are bound by the laws of logic and reason to acknowledge the existance of such unicorns. It is not the responsibility of anyone to prove the existance of that which has no evidence. What do you expect, a big folder to arrive in the mail full of blank pieces of paper which the evidence would be printed on if ESP existed? Until evidence is provided for it, and real legitimate evidence (not some crazy guy on the internet talking about how he can read minds and bend spoons), we assume it is not real. Science. Hurrah!
Could you elaborate on that last point about "we just don't use all of it at any given time."?
Go to sleep. Your visual cortex isn't getting much of a workout at this time. Neurons which are involved in descending pain inhibition pathways don't see much use when there isn't pain. Stuff like that.

I have ESP. SEE! RIGHT THERE! I TRICKED ALL YOU PEOPLE INTO THINKING I HAVE ESP WITH MY ESP! So that means it does exist and now I am getting pissed because I keep getting this shitty ass reply saying i need to make my sentences more 'verbose'. WHAT THE FUCK DOES VERBOSE MEAN!?!??!

we only used 10% at any given time
That's the point being argued against you. At any given time. There's no secret hidden depths of the brain we don't use. Déjà vu?
The most likely candidate for explanation, according to scientists in these fields, is that déjà vu is not an act of "precognition" or "prophecy" but is actually an anomaly of memory; it is the impression that an experience is "being recalled" which is false. This is substantiated to an extent by the fact that in most cases the sense of "recollection" at the time is strong, but any circumstances of the "previous" experience (when, where and how the earlier experience occurred) are quite uncertain. Likewise, as time passes, subjects can exhibit a strong recollection of having the "unsettling" experience of déjà vu itself, but little to no recollection of the specifics of the event(s) or circumstances they were "remembering" when they had the déjà vu experience, and in particular, this may result from an overlap between the neurological systems responsible for short-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the present) and those responsible for long-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the past).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9j%C3%A0_vu#Scientific_research Funny how no clairvoyants, mediums, psychics, aliens, UFOs, wizards, witches or ghosts have provided any half decent evidence to be examined that doesn't include verbal accounts, dodgy media or laughably blatent hoaxes after thousands of years of their supposed existance.
