ok one... that was pretty meen i passed the intelligence thingy too....
A highly surprising fact, honestly.

two it is true scientist have proved it.... we only used 10% at any given time.... none really uses more than 10% at any given time.... i believe it.... have u evr seen the movie matilda?
Have you seen Harry Potter? Those wizards are OUT THERE. They just hide very well.

and three i woodnt trust that snopes page..... on that page it says that a guys boner can't b told by any body part... WEN IT ACTUALLY  CAN!!!! if you were to measure the distance from your  thumb to your index finger when you make an L with it you would actually  get the size of your boner.... and that is 100% true i have tested myself
Wrong, retard. It might work for you, but after seeing enough porn with 11" and 12" dicks, I can assure you, it's not always true. These guys have big hands, but nowhere near 11" when making an L. Similarly, asians with 4" cocks have regular-sized hands. The fact that it works some of the time doesn't mean it's a real method. How the fuck did you pass the test?

Seriously, people. There's million-dollar rewards out there waiting for anyone who can prove in a scientifical setting his/her ESP abilities. The scientific community is still waiting. If no one's cashing the check, what the hell do you think it means?

(Edited by KentAdams at 6:18 pm on April 20, 2006)

Did you not read the article that you had quoted?  Seriously, it does offer explanations.

I get déjà vu all the time.  Well, sometimes I'll get it more than 3x a week, and sometimes I won't have it for a year.  It just feels like the same situations, with the people there and all that.  Do I think I'm psychic or having such ESP powers?  No, I just think it's kinda cool, then forget it a minute later.  Sometimes I remember that I dreamt something like that, and the main part of my dream didn't even happen.  It's just some goofy thing in your brain, not ESP.

I faint everytime before I have an accident, and all of those times I never knew what happened until I woke up a couple of seconds later and realize what's going on.  That would make me think I have ESP powers, eh?  Wrong.

Most ESP things are pure bullshit, or should I say all of them.  Sometimes weird things just happen, and it's just a small event.  It's not life-changing or any shit like that.  Who cares about a 7 year old birthday party, honestly?  I know the first déjà vu thing I remember was being tickled.  Do I have a life doomed to tickling forever?  Obviously not.

I suppose I'm wander off in many directions, but whoopde-fricken-doo, our brains are mysteries, and so many unexplained things are going on, so what else is new?

i do believe that "esp" has been granted resaerch budgets, therefore, in the eyes of some a valid science....

If i remember correctly Soviet Russia spent a lot of monney on Esp research -- trying to develop psychic spies....

hasn't alien research and communication also been and still is a part of government funded research? It doesn't mean there is any science behind it. How much funding something gets does not make it a science by any stretch of the mind. And we all know what happened to soviet russia.

Anyway. Deja Vu is simply the brain misplacing memory. Just like computers missallocate memory the human brain does the same thing. Instead of placing the impulse in short term memory it is misplaced in long term memory creating a "deja vu" effect where the person who it happened to believes what she is currently experiences has happened in the past.

ehhh.....................

My post did not give away my position -- I never actually claimed it was a valid science, nor did i say the a budget equals validates something.....

hay! English is full of comprehensive subtlies! re-read and perhaps you'll spot where you went wrong.....

as for Deja-vu: -

Could you please post "evidence" or reference to your claim....Only, i fear that your analogy is a gross mis-interpretation of the commonly accepted explanation.....

I thought is was something to do with some sort of STM Loop, where the same "impulse" is repeated twice.....

I was simply giving an explanation to your post.

And as for Deja-vu, it was a glib and simple interpretation of something far more complicated.

On the topic of deja vu many leading specialists believe that it is caused by a short, momentary lapse in depth peception, after which a person feels that they had already experienced an event because, in reality, they had- only a split-second before. Personally, I think that the modern idea of ESP is likely crap, I don't think someone can walk around communiocating with others using simply his/her own mind, or that you can peer into someones mind to see what they are thinking. That seems totally inplausible. However, I do think that there are more minor, ESP-like abilities, perhaps things overlooked by or not used by most people on a daily basis, that do exist. Just nothing to make a huge difference in our perception around us. Yes, that ten-percent thing is crap. We just don;t use all of our brains all of the time. Maybe only ten percent when we are sleeping, but in oprde to use all of your brain, you would need to be stimulating every idea and action in your mind, and would likely fry it or freeze it up, the same thing that happens when you overload your pc. About gov't-funded ESP-programs, both the Soviet and American gov'ts have spent millions on them, specifially duriong the Cold-War era. The American programs have come to be known collectively as Project Star Gate, with a focus in remote viewing. Afte reviewing some iof the documents about remote viewing in these programs, it seems as thought there may be some evidence for more minor psychic-like abilities, but nothing huge and profound. Some of the documents, which were declassified unde the Freedom of Information Act, can be found here: tp://www.bvalphaserver.com/index.php#foia

It's rather simple.

ESP, Telekinesis, Astral Projection, Pyrokinesis and all those other 'talents' don't exist. The very idea of them defies so many laws of the universe that it's not even funny.

You can't control the movement of an object threw thought, unless your like, Magneto...and that's only metal.

You can't make an object spontaneously burst into flames. In all honesty, would you really even want to? You get pissed at your kid sister for annoying you and "boom" she burst into flames. That's a curse.

You can't project yourself or your thoughts through meditation or any other non-technological means. Outside of freaking people out and pulling some awesome pranks, there is no real reason to even do it. We have camera phones, people.

You can't read people's minds either. It's just physically impossible; it would be like...reading a book in a language whose logic is all its own. Better yet it would have no logic, and no words.

But would you really want to even read people's minds? It would be traumatizing.

Would you really want any of those 'talents'? Probably not. Can you learn any of those 'abilities'? No.

Have a nice day.

esp does exist but it isnt some rare gift that lets you see the future for real or what other people are thinking, it occurs in very specific states of consciousness which are almost always artificially induced and, in basic terms, everything you may perceive is imaginary or so abstract that it may as well be imaginary.

i've done it with binaural beats, others might do it with lsd or other psychoactives... of course this isn't being completely true to what people usually mean when they say esp but strictly speaking what i'm talking about is extrasensory perception

Read again:

it is the impression that an experience is "being recalled" which is false.

It's not a memory. It's most likely a brain defect.

.....???.... so i have a brain defect now???? what are you talking about?

There is a standing million dollar reward for anyone who can show, clearly, that the supernatural exists.

Nobody has claimed it.

More than a few have tried.

ESP has been widely documented through history, im not saying that because its documented its true, just saying that perhaps there is some truth behind the las vegas style shield of clairvoyancy.

as for whether it can be passed on genetically, why not? there are plenty of traits that are passed on through genes so yes its possible.

ESP has been widely documented through history,

No, people claiming extra sensory perception have been widely documented. People claiming to be Jesus have been documented all over the world, too.

just saying that perhaps there is some truth behind the las vegas style shield of clairvoyancy.

Yep, there sure are a lot of Jesuses who are real.

as for whether it can be passed on genetically, why not? there are plenty of traits that are passed on through genes so yes its possible.

It has to exist first.
