So basically, because you've contributed to the creation of an intellectual forum, you think you're entitled to call me an idiot? Ah, of course, I'd expect nothing less that someone like you.

No, you've been called an idiot for your juvenile preconceptions over someone's avatar image which has nothing to do with the level of intelligence one may obtain which is EXACTLY what this topic is about.

Your arguments go nowhere but in circles and stray away from the subject of this topic. As already mentioned byxxjustpeachyxx, posting a topic like this in the DT&RM forum would only create more frustrating replies. Sadly, the content of this topic exeads comprehention of most LW minds. If this topic was made for the less entelectual, wouldn't it be formatted in a way that would better relate to them?

This topic was not meant to be an advertisement but even so, location is not the key. Rather, placing your advertisment in a location reachable to your target consumers.

The first few weeks of the class focused on what was literacy and how to help teach children how to read.  What the various stages in reading development and the different psychological approaches towards reading instruction.

I would really like to research more about the psychological approaches used and then how it's applied.

As a graphic design major, my classes are always touching base with these principle but not just for children. What's also interesting is how the reading comprehention and the understanding of Semiotics changes from culture to culture.

Funny, I could of swore that this topic has something to do with misconceptions about literacy...Don't try and correlate my "juvenile preconceptions over someone's avatar image" to literacy, because frankly, it won't(doesn't) work.

Your arguments go nowhere but in circles and stray away from the subject of this topic.

I find this particularly funny because replying to an off-topic post usually takes you off topic. Whenever you point out flaws in arguments it's usually good to provide an example, if only to save face.

Now lets take a look at your arguments...

As already mentioned byxxjustpeachyxx, posting a topic like this in the DT&RM forum would only create more frustrating replies

Oddly enough, more people would read them; regardless of how people reply, it would be better for them to see the information. Expect fustrating replies with topics like this, if they're replying at least they're partially reading. At the very least they glanced at the title.

Sadly, the content of this topic exeads comprehention of most LW minds.

Which is the glaring flaw of the entire topic; why try and clear up misconceptions to those that are already aware? You won't accomplish anything; just preaching to the choir.  I also think that you under estimate the minds of many of the people on LW; sure some of them are raving idiots but I'm sure most of the people would be able to comprehend this topic. They may not be able to add anything to the topic, but they can comprehend.

If this topic was made for the less entelectual, wouldn't it be formatted in a way that would better relate to them?

Then what is the point of this topic? Obviously many of the certified LW Intellectuals already know what literacy is; there aren't any misconceptions. I'd just as well make a post about grammar or something...

This topic was not meant to be an advertisement but even so, location is not the key.

And yet....

Rather, placing your advertisment in a location reachable to your target consumers.

Hence location being key, and yes I fully comprehend that last quote.

Passing a pretty simple test of grammar doesn't make you some great example of literacy, nor does it imply that you know and understand the various components of literacy.

If I can read and have a reasonable comprehension of what it is that I have read, why do I need to understand the various components of literacy? If I can walk across a room do I have to know all the intricacies of being ambulatory?
