I mean from what I heard around all he did was ask a simple honest question and apparently some ppl read a lot of stuff into it and thought he was being mean or something. I mean just because the guy is sometimes sarcastic in politics forums doesnt mean he always got bad intentions.

I dont agree with him on everything but that doesnt mean that everything he writes should be interpreted as nasty.

What happened really?

I don't know.

But there would have been more incidences. He wouldn't have been banned for a once-off event.

That was the last straw, correct.

Care to explain how exactly his question could be construed as "insensitive"?  The OP's friend's response is very unusual from someone who she considered a genuine friend - an inquiry as to how exactly she told him about her being raped is both on topic and appropriate as the information could give a clearer picture to any person reading the topic.

That really doesn't seem that bad. Call me emotionally inept, but that really isn't that bad. Seems like the mods are a little bit too trigger happy/emotional.

is there any situation, any at all, in which you could imagine a girl describing being raped and a guy saying that, and it not being grossly inappropriate from a normal point of view? really now.

is there any situation, any at all, in which you could imagine a girl describing being raped and a guy saying that, and it not being grossly inappropriate from a normal point of view? really now.

It's possible if it were a case if she were at a party with a boyfriend, both got drunk, her friend was also there, and they went to be alone and it turned out she was raped; then later, being too embarrassed to tell anyone about it, she covers herself by just telling everybody nothing happened. Thus her friend just figures they had consensual sex and that her coming out with it is an attempt on her part to smear his name for who knows what reason.

But in all honesty, I just made that up off the top of my head. You wanted a potential scenario, so I gave you one. Knowing the details you'd receive from a response to Abs' question would allow an individual to respond to the OP in a more appropriate way than before. This is especially true if there was some kind of misunderstanding or anything involved.

Simply because you ask the OP a question like that does not mean you doubt she was raped in any way whatsoever.

It was on College Sexuality. They have forums for sensitivity. Abs just asked a question.

It is a pity, I liked abs.

its one thing to be the guy that actually said nasty stuff to the girl. if ppl do that they should be banned yeah. but why is asking a question insensitive? or if abs said "i believe the guy and i think you lied" then yeah thatd be bannable totally. but just asking what she said isnt bad unless you want to read something more into what he said than what was there.

i mean its true that abs can be nasty in politics and race forums and dtrm. but he wasnt in that forum.
