I find it really hard to learn lines for drama.

And I have to learn 4 pages for next week.

Any ideas on how to memorise scripts easier?

It started out with a kiss, how did it end up like this.

Read them aloud again, and again, and again, and again.

If you learn visually, try to "see" each sentence while you're saying it.  You can also try writing down your lines so you remember them in your own handwriting.

If you learn aurally, say small parts out loud and remember the inflections of certain words to help you get through parts you have trouble remembering.

Try having a friend give you prompts that will help you remember things.

Sometimes I make a song out of things I am trying to memorize.  Almost everyone can learn this way--how did you first learn the alphabet?

Whatever you do, don't try to memorize large sections all at once.  Break it down and put it all together.

When I had trouble memorizing lines I found it VERY helpful to write out the lines in my own handwriting. My writing it you're more aware of what each line is.
Also, it just takes practice practice practice.... say them over and over and over again. If you're out doing something you should even try to repeat them in your head.

How I memorize things is read the first line... over and over, until I can say it without the words in front of me, then I move onto the next one but I say the first line and then practice memorizing the second ones along with them. It's like a progressing technique.

Example:
"Today I went to school and learned about the Renaissance Period."

"Today I went to school and learned about the Renaissance Period." [Action]
"Oh no! I seemed to have lost the paper I was writing on!"

"Today I went to school and learned about the Renaissance Period." [Action]
"Oh no! I seemed to have lost the paper I was writing on!"
"Joe, I need your help. We need to search EVERYWHERE. I need that paper!!"

I really hope this made sense...
