I know a girl from high school that still doesn't drink alcohol, and she's adorable, sociable, and still has more fun than anyone that's shit wasted and doing stupid shit. Some people just don't like the smell, taste, or the burn of hard liquor. If it weren't for the social stigma and the collective mentality of taking a round of shots, or the physically addicting aspect of alcohol, I doubt many would sit around in their free time just drinking away based on its sensory aesthetics. But man, if you're honestly 13 and sitting around saying that you're never going to drink, you're going to be disappointed with yourself.

It's all about limits, and being responsible about it.  I don't do hard drugs.  I don't smoke.  I do drink plenty, but the key word is moderation.  I know my limit, so I don't get sick from drinking.  And I've found drinks that I actually like, so that it's for enjoyment, not to just get drunk.  And of course, there's always a designated driver if a car is necessary.
