i weigh 95 lbs and i'm 15. i have great metabolism so even if i suck at gym and i never join a school sports team, i can stay thin. i usually walk like 3 miles a day and that's how i exercise. i'm weak and fragile, so i can't do much more than that. anyway my friend, who does a LOT of sports and is still chubby, keeps on scaring me. she's telling me that when i hit 30 my metabolism will slow down and i'll become obese... can this be true?   i mean this kinda doesn't make sense to me because i have my mom's genes in metabolism and she's 40, doesn't do sports and she's 120lbs.

yeah it's always a possibility i lost my good metabolism at about fifteen or so but exercise helps along with eating right!!!

Your metabolism does start to slow down at 30 but it doesn't mean you'll become obese.

Given how you describe yourself, it might be good for you to gain some weight anyways.

It is more complexed than that... but doing some sport can only benefit.

It could be either that or you will stay thin for a very long time.

Try some sports, just to keep you fit, not for loosing weight or something...
