Those quizzes are worth a fair penny. Odds are there is still much to come to give you marks, so I'd say either talk to your teacher or another student (or both) about the material you don't understand and do everything you can to learn this. If your mother sees that you are putting an honest effort into your marks, maybe she won't be so harsh. Try talking it over with her sometime when she isn't so worked up.
