lw does go through different periods, though. sometimes the support is superb and everyone is on the ball, and at other times things are quite slow. it would seem that we're perhaps going through a wee slow patch, but no doubt it'll pick up again. always does.

YES.

Although it does prove to be somewhat of a motivator for some people, and it can be argued that more people will reply because or ratings and whatnot. Unfortunately.

Yes... as quite often a good rating doesn't necessarily mean the reply was good and vice versa. And quite a lot of people don't rate replies.

Maybe it should be that other SLs can rate it? =/ There won't be the problem with not giving the advice people want to hear... Or just do away with it all together.

However you have to also think if the rating system wasn't there how would we know if we were helping or not. maybe they should get rid of the rating but NOT the feedback so the members still have the option on whether or not they want to tell us what they felt about the reply we have given.
