If any of you know what I am talking about:

I am trying to insert a movie clip in Flash MX from another file into a new file. But it says that it will replace existing items. If I click do not replace, the movie clip doesn't work, and if I click replace existing items (not undoable) it replaces the symbol everywhere in the entire file, messing it all up. I have tried renaming it, but it still isn't working. I am thinking it is becuase I have a symbol in  symbol, but I still can't solve the problem. Thanks if you knew what I am talking about!

Are you importing it into your library?  You should be able to do that and give it a different name then just drag it into the scene you need it for.

Is the symbol in the symbol the same name as the new one your trying to insert? Or in the same place? Try editing the symbol in the symbol, it probably is your problem.
