Okay, well I have a desktop now. It's not... "new" it's kinda a hand-me-down from a friend. But it was cleaned off and in new condition when I got it. SO, it actually has a speaker on... the base of the computer. And it will only play sound through that and not my speakers on my desk.

Any way I can get it to NOT play through the speaker on the machine itself and play through the speakers that are plugged in?

I have a extra computer in my garage. Though I don't know how well the Harddrive doing and I ain't cleaned it so I don't know if I can give it away yet. Wanted to give it to my cousins but I told them I had to put it together because I take computers apart and shit. So they didn't take it. I think the computer should automatically switch to whatever is plugged into the output.

If you can open up the pc case and check the cable that's comming from the base of the computer and unplug it. Also make sure your speakers are plugged into the green output on the back of the motherboard/sound card.

Check to see if you can disable it in your sound driver options.

Check the audio settings in control panel for a start, see what audio devices are set for what, try changing them around.

Might help with a bit more info, onboard audio or sound card ?

Not knowing which, I'd say go into the BIOS and check the settings for that.

If you have a sound card, disable onboard...  otherwise make sure onboard is on.

Possibly the speaker inside may be attached to an audio header...   does your computer have 3.5mm sockets on the back/front ?

Hard to say without more info.
