the girl i love hates me because i broke her trust. it's a long story; one i don't feel like getting in to on an internet forum.

anyway, i can't stop thinking about it and every single night i'm obsessing over what i did and how things used to be and how things are now and it absolutely sucks. the jump from talking every day to not talking at all is pure hell and for some reason, tonight i feel worse than ever.

like the topic title says, i don't like asking for help, and this isn't a plea or anything. but if anyone has been in a similar situation or dealt with it or maybe has something to say that can help me stop going over everything in my head again and again and again, i would really appreciate it.

i don't really think you can stop those thoughts. it's extremely difficult to get rid of regret completely. but you can still slow them and eventually forget about them for the most part.

i think it comes down to doing whatever you can to cover the regret with something positive. i'm not suggesting you should just repress your thoughts and never deal with them in favor of something new, just look for things that might make up for the bad memories. you'll still have friends and you might find another girl you love even more. and then you can find the opportunities to be happier just in your daily life. sports, knowledge, hobbies, job, anything that you already do love or once loved. they're right there for you--try it. work on accepting your situation either by yourself or by talking with somebody else, but occasionally do what you can to get it off your mind and try to have fun with something else. then when you think about the bad stuff again you'll have something to compare.

have you already been trying pretty hard? =/
