It's set to a domain. You just need to reinstall XP. There is no way to get around this without the password or some hard work.

I was thinking about reinstalling windows, but then I realized the only copy(if u can call it that) of Windows XP I have on CD is on the 3 disc System Recovery cds, but the recovery discs only work on my desktop Sony VAIO and no one I know has XP Pro on disc so I can reinstall using the XP key that's under the laptop.
This is most likely a dumb idea, but I was thinking,...
What if I buy XP Pro, reinstall using laptop's key, and then take it back to retail and say that the cd never booted up, or something, refund, VOILA!!! You think that might work?
lol I know I know, what a cheapskate I am!!! lol I just really don't want to shell out anything for this situation.
Argh!!! Maybe it's not just worth all the hassle if I haven't been able to bypass it already. I know my friend was trying to hook me up, and maybe I got a little to excited, but all for nothing I guess.
