I am so excited to go to college. I'm commuting in the fall and then get to live in a dorm in the spring. Housing situation isn't that great. I'm going to University of Maryland. It's about 20 min from my house so it's close enough to come home if I need to but I really want to be on my own. I'm just worried about the work load.

My first year of college was great. I loved dorm life, but I'm excited that I got a house with a couple of my friends. I attend Colorado State University.

I'm going to SUNY Albany, and to be honest, I'm excited, but at the same time, I'm wondering if I'm mentally old enough to start college. It's just that for some reason, I sometimes don't feel as old as I look, and though I'm 17, I'd probably act maybe like a 14 or 15 year old, depending on the situation. Still, though, I'm looking forward to living on campus and everything, but it's true: time flies, and I'm only hoping I've prepared enough to stick it out.

I only have one concern: All throughout high school, now keep in mind that I'm a student who has almost zero self reliance in terms of learning, I always need lessons explained to me in detail for me to understand, by the teacher that is. Text books don't help me because I can't understand shit it says. Every time I have a teacher throughout high school who expected us to do the reading and comprehend information ourselves, I always complain about it. Every time I complain, I get told, "This is how it will be in college." @_@ Blah. Post edited at 5:21 pm on May 12, 2008 by Aero360

It'll be my first time living away from home and I'm more nervous than I've ever felt in my entire life. Sure, it's a wonderful new experience and all, and I couldn't be more excited, but I'm really close to my mother and it's going to be hard moving away. Plus we live in a very small town, and I'm going to the second largest college in Missouri -- Missouri State University (Springfield). I have a few friends and a cousin attending there next year as well, so, at least that'll help ease the change!

I'm taking a semester off, then going to the University of North Florida. I'm excited, I'll be moving away from my family, which is going to be horrible because I'm an only child & really close to my parents. But, it'll be a nice change.
