I'm very excited about going to college in the fall because of the whole experience. Yes, I will be moving away from home for the first time but I'm sure I won't get that homesick since my brother and some of my friends will be going with me!

I'll be going to UCSB.

i'm going to georgian court university. i'm not nervous at all. its only 20 minutes away from home. i love the campus and would want to live there, but since its a mostly all-girls college, it would be very hard to see my boyfriend. and none of my friends have cars, so i would have to keep commuting to see them anyway. i don't see the point in wasting $10,000 every year to live somewhere, plus gas mileage.

I only have one concern:

All throughout high school, now keep in mind that I'm a student who has almost zero self reliance in terms of learning, I always need lessons explained to me in detail for me to understand, by the teacher that is. Text books don't help me because I can't understand shit it says.

Every time I have a teacher throughout high school who expected us to do the reading and comprehend information ourselves, I always complain about it. Every time I complain, I get told, "This is how it will be in college." @_@ Blah.

yes, college will be about reading. but if you're willing to seek out your professor(s) for help, they will be more than happy to help you. but you can't just go to them and say "uh, i dont get it." you have to tell them specificly something that you need help with.

i had the same problem. i used to read everything one paragraph at a time, and try to take notes on whatever was important in that paragraph. and i would try to understand my notes. it takes a lot of work, but it pays off in the end.
