What's the point of having a degree in some thing if there are to many people with that degree, and you can't get a job in that field?  It sort of takes away the reason to even go to college if you wouldn't be able to get a job since to many people do that.  What do you think?

Yes, it does make going into that field really pointless, unless you are extremely talented in that area, and could show a higher level of achievement.

It depends what your degree is in. It certainly can only help you achieve a better job.

it's all about the demand of the career you choose... if there are a lot of people with the degree you speak of it's most likely because society is in need of these people and, therefore, jobs are waiting to be filled

What if someone picked a degree because that's the sort of job they want and not because of their being a lot of jobs in that field...  Then what you said isn't true.

if someone chooses to be an engineer, simply because that one person LOVES being tech savvy is quite skilled at it, but engineers are in high demand and, it is therefore, hard to get a job as one, you shall simply murder off all the engineers you are competing against. it's quite simply really.

The number of places in colleges allocated to each degree is determined by the demand of labor in that area. So, in other words, if someone picked a degree because that's the sort of job they want and not because of there being a lot of jobs in that field, that person will or will not gain admission to his choice of degree depending on his prior qualifications.
