Our band concert was FUCKING AMAZING.
To say the least. 1st song: Firestorm (eh. The saxes had the melody, so that made it bearable).
2nd song: Old Time Rock and Roll (gag, for the most part. Except a few lines where we got the melody.)
3rd song: God Bless USA (okay. Saxophones got the hard melody, so it was sort of fun).
AND THE BEST SONG...JDFS. Short for JD's Favorite Songs. Our band director's son has had leukimia for like 14 months, and he's only four or five. He made a really long song the was made up of his favorite songs. It was GREAAAAAT.
-Train whistle (the flutes)
-Then the Thomas the Train themesong
-Train (the three alto saxophones, tenor sax, and bari song each played a part of the train. It started slow, then got faster as it took off. We each had a different note and it was awesome.)
-The Polar Express (saxophone melody :D)
-Ariel's Song from the Little Mermaid (flute solo)
-Under the Sea from the Little Mermaid (saxophone melody :D)
-I Can't Wait To Be King from the Lion King (saxophone melody :D)
-The Incredibles (saxophone melody :D)
-Real Gone from Cars (not really a sax melody, but still fun)
I almost cried because it's our last band concert, and junior high is almost over. I felt like such a baby.
