I notice that the Livewire nation selection is a tad inconsistent. Specifically, with the official, preferred terms of the names of specific countries. Burma, at a certain point requested that the English name of the country be Myanmar, and Livewire has respected this in its selection. One can claim to be from Myanmar but not from Burma. However, other preferred naming conventions are ignored. In particular, the government of the Ivory Coast requested at a certain point that its French name should be used in English and other languages in preference of literal translations, such as "Ivory Coast." Why then, can we claim to be from Ivory Coast, but not from Côte d'Ivoire? Why should some changes be respected and others not? Consistency, Livewire, consistency.

That is actually pretty interesting, I never knew any of that and thus never thought of it. My best guess at an answer would be that when LiveWire was created perhaps it used a pre-set list of countries, and simply updated it (with the addition of UK areas and Canadian provinces), but never officially reformed it?
