UFO means unidentified flying objects.
Thousands of innocently ignorant and fallible human beings report seeing those things. Even I have seen them. But I get explanations pretty fast for them.
It does not mean that any of it is extraterrestrial vehicles/life forms, and it doesn't mean that government is in on it in some way. If the government investigated it's because the government is composed of concerned human beings who took the idea of UFOs being extraterrestrial invasions seriously, thus investigated.
It did investigate, so what? Quite possibly, they concluded that there's no reason to believe that there's any extraterrestrial thing.
Of course conspiracy theorists are going to conclude, without evidence, that the government is lying, because it HAS to be lying. Because these theorists have already a conclusion and try to find the facts, instead of going the other way around. that's why they say "they have to be lying".
their reasoning is like a car going the other way in the traffic.
The only way to convince these people that the government isn't hiding some sort of extraterrestrial intelligence is to allow them to have access to the places where the government keeps this stuff. Like Area 51. Just let the nutters get in and let them inspect every inch of it and see the weapons and the highly advanced planes that America doesn't want Russia to know about.
And even after they were given access, would they feel satisfied? Would they still think that the government was hiding something, in some secret underground chamber?
These people can't be convinced of the contrary.
I believe in UFOs, in the sense that I believe that there are things that many people are ignorant to explain, thus being unable to identify them, thanks to their limited database of knowledge of natural phenomena.
