If you'd learn some spanish, then you'd know that in spanish they are simply referred to as indios while in english they are referred to as amerindians or american indians.

Keep trying useless idiot.

If you learned some Spanish, you'd know that in many parts of Latin America, "indio" is really offensive- sort of like calling a Native American a "redskin" or something of that nature.

Indigenous is better I think.

Why? Indigenous is just another synonym for "native" and those of European, African, Asian descent born in the Americas are still NATIVE to the Americas.

Aboriginal is much better. Why, you ask?

ab-origine-s, the original inhabitants, as opposed to the native peoples. Anyone born in the Americas is a native American, but only the "amerindians" are aboriginals. Aboriginal is best.

South American aboriginals are still American aboriginals.

Not really. Indigenous mean originally there. It does not have the same meaning as Native which means born there.

in·dig·e·nous   -adjective 1. originating in and characteristic of a particular region or country; native (often fol. by to): the plants indigenous to Canada; the indigenous peoples of southern Africa.
2. innate; inherent; natural (usually fol. by to): feelings indigenous to human beings.

it means the original people.

Aboriginal is much better.
its not better. its about the same. the thing that bothers me about it is it is used more for ppl of australia and africa.
