I think that while it is fun to put yourself out there and try to enjoy yourself more, you really shouldn't have to try so hard. That just makes fun like work, which takes away the fun aspects in the first place. I think you should try to figure out what makes you happy and delight in that. Try and find some people who relate more to you, maybe. Having friends is great; having friends who get you and you can totally be yourself around is even better.
