and no, i don't just want to nest the macro code. :grin: i've been trying this for a while, and i can't find anything. i'm too newb at VB to understand the help file, or to know what to search for in it. any help would be greatly appreciated

To run a macro within another macro you can use the following code:

Sub Macro1() 'Macro code for Macro1 Goes here Call Macro2 End Sub
Sub Macro2() 'Macro code for Macro2 Goes here End Sub
Obviously you just need to change your code to fit in! Hoep that helps.
