Yah, you're supposed to separate colors, from whites. And if you have any bleach, then add with, and only with the whites. If you are going to wash a big load, than make sure you have your washer set on large, or x large. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then I highly suggest you do a small load. It's kind of up to you, and or your mom on whether you want hot, cold, or warm water. I usually use hot water. It gets the clothes cleaner. But then again, you said you were going to do the dishes, which take up a lot of hot water. So you might just use warm, or even cold depending on how much time you have. If you have something called a color catcher, or clothing softener, you would want to put it in the dryer so it wont get torn up in the washing machine of course! The time you put your clothes in the dryer depends on the size load you washed, and the kind of washer you have in your home. But I'm pretty sure you can figure that out. It's not hard. Take them out when they are dry. GOOD LUCK!
