i have to serve 8-o-clock mass tomorrow, for a roman catholic church, for my conservative republican family and the people they want to look good for.

I'm an athiest.

this has been going on for a year.

my dad: go to bed, you have to serve mass tomorrow.

me: I'm not catholic.

my dad: yes you are.

me: No, I'm not.

my dad: you are until you're eighteen.

I HATE IT! WORDS CANNOT DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I HATE IT! I HHHHAAAAAAATTTTTTTE BEING INJUSTICED LIKE THAT!

That sucks. My parents are Catholic but my brother is Athiest and I am a Mahayana Buddhist. They allow us and we don't go to Church. We still celebrate Catholic traditions but remove the religion so really we just celebrate for fun lol

Lmao! I used to have to fight to stay home from church because I don't believe in God, but I found sleeping in works nicely. Just don't wake up in time to go, it's as simple as that. :)

I used to pretend I was asleep, even after they forced open the curtains and put the lights on and swore at me....after 3 months, they gave up.

Dunno what I'd do in your position, but I guess try and explain to them that you don't care for religion in a gentle way...not one that'll offend them as then you'll be forced to go more. Alternatively, use some of the old "would God..." tricks or whatever you like on them and try to convert them =D
