I want to tell my friend that the only reason I dislike her friends is because I envy the fact that they're closer to her. Yet, I don't know how to say that, without looking silly. So far she thinks I don't like them because I've stereotyped them as bad people, but that's not really the case. It's just that I'm sort of jealous about the better relationship they have with her.

How do I go about it? Should I make it into a joke?
