They are fun because human beings cannot fly individually, and by controlling the very simple piece of cloth and string (compared to the complexity of an aircraft) makes you feel empowered, excited, and free all at once.
i just like the feelin of the wind on it and especially when i let out like the entire string roll til all i have is a little stub! :D
