But my comment was more of a statement about how ironic it is that HITLER, the heartless dude who killed so many people and whatnot, actually had a talent like this. It almost humanizes him a little bit in my eyes. Kind of surprising, especially for little old me who hadn't heard about Hitler's art before this topic.

How is it at all surprising?  After all, Hitler was a human with feelings.  His beliefs may have been extreme and resulted in the deaths of millions, and he may not have been sorry for them (perhaps even proud of it), but that doesn't take his humanity away.

It's important when you look at historical figures to try to recognize who they were, not just what they stood for (as Hitler in the minds of most of the Western world has come to stood for the epitome of all evil).  You get a much more accurate representation of who that person really was and what they really wanted.

Look, I'm not going to fight with you about this.  You're entitled to your opinion, as am I.  I'm perfectly aware that he was a human being with feelings, I'm sure.  I said it humanizes him in MY eyes, I think of him slightly different now.  Doesn't have to for you, and it doesn't even have to make sense to you.  I'm not interested in turning this into some kind of debate.

I think his art was amazing, I'm impressed, the end.

?  Why do you take it as if I'm trying to attack you?  I see exactly what you mean - when a person comes to represent something more than just who they are as a person (as Hitler did), it is kinda odd to see a more humane and everyday aspect of that person.  These are the things that make people alive and real to us.

I just simply stated that we should keep it in mind for every person we hear or read about.
