My bf had to ship his in and he said it takes about a month (maybe a little less) for them to send it in, fix it, and then send it back. He ended up getting a replacement (his problem wasn't the red ring- something else). But since it's the red ring of death... chances are, they will just send you another. But that all depends on Microsoft there.
