Should I reveal that I'm a dumbass or let them find out?

I get made fun of a lot by people because I say and do stupid things. I noticed that other people who are stupid like me act very spontaneous and tell people straight forward that they are dumb and to just bear with them. The problem is that they are girls and most people think its cute when they do that. Now lets move on to the guys sillyness, and thats me.

I've been a dumbass since I was like in grade school, through middle school and now high school. You know I'm that little silly person who doesn't know common sense or you would be talking about something and I'll respond back in another way. I've been trying my best to act normal and be like everybody else but they like make fun of me still.

My question is that I'm going to college and stuff next year. Should I tell them straight forward my problem like "excuse me, I'm kinda silly" or should I just let things go by and don't say a word? Meaning should I confront them or not?

I hope this makes sense.

I'm completely like that, and I don't see it as that much of a bad thing. :)

No. Trust me, college kids are very observant...they'll notice you're a dumbass. Maybe you should try and not be a "dumbass" so much and you'll fit in better.

Nobody is silly or stupid. You just have to be more confident.

It's only stupid and silly to say/think this.

Well I actually tried to stop being a dumbass this year, my senior year. I decided not to talk at all so people won't know I'm stupid. And it worked, they don't know that I'm a dumbass but then again I don't have any friends anymore. I am not even going to the prom this weekend since I got no girl or no friends to hang out with.

And yeah its hard to have some confidence if everyone in your family, friends and random people calling you stupid in a dumbass. Rather than denying that fact I might as well accept it and try to improve on it.

Exactly; don't feel like you have to be antisocial...you should just watch what you say so  to  speak.

Try to not be so uptight about it. It might be hard, but have you ever tried to laugh at yourself when others laugh at you? You can't help what you understand or don't understand, but you can help how people react to that. They don't have to look down on you for that if you're good-natured about it. Good luck.
