i'm going to uni in september. i'm a bit worried about not having enough cash to make it through the year though. i haven't worked for a while and i can't find a job. i guess nobody wants to hire me to work for 2 months and then quit. its because i'm living on campus, which is over an hour away from home. my parents are paying for all the neccessities, i just need cash for having fun. if you have personal experience give me an idea of how much money you spend in a school year. try to factor in canadian prices and currency (if your canadian) and that i am a very modest spender. i've never gone out too much but it seems hard to imagine going through a day without having a drink or toke of weed at res.

You can find a job during the school year. Money is hard to come by in essence in college, because most of it is going to the school. But it's able to done. You just have to look at the right places.

some schools offer work study, where they provide you with a job and you get paid and everything but you're just not allowed to use that money toward tuition. it's more like food money and stuff. try asking your financial adviser if you qualify.

Bro, If you want to make money. while in school you need to start using that brain. And not your mini-brain, the big brain..lol.. Look its us young adults that got to start releasing that unless you have a degree and have the best hook-ups in the right places. All we will be able to accomplish is making a measley wage. Look bro, im only 22 yrs old and future millionaire. Because I got out of that program we have all been brought up on. and its "YOU MUST WORK,WORK,WORK OR GO TO SCHOOL AND WORK A CORPORATE JOB". YOU know what I say, they can go stick that where the light dont shine.Look if you would like to holler at me through here, do so. I will let you know things on ways to make money legit.....

I basically just eat off the interest off my money market fund, which averages around $400 a month (U.S.), I buy and cook my own food, so it had to cover that (I live off campus, so I use a separate bank account for my rent and tuition).

If you're food is paid for and everything, I think $200 a month is plenty for you. So maybe a 10 hour a week part time job would do the trick:)

And always save money if you can, they do add up. Since networking is an important part of college, do remember to spend money on that;)
