when burning a dvd with the divx player... will the dvd play like a normal dvd? or will i need a divx hardware player?

As you are burning this with a divx player you will need to play this either on a computer which supports the divx file format or on a DVD player which supports this format

Many modern DVD players now support the divx file format.
