How do I know which religion is the right one? Is this even fair?

I'm agnostic. I believe in God but not in religion. Obviously however, in many religions that is not enough and I could end up in hell (If it existed)

How should I know which religion is the right one? I could follow one of the Abrahamic religions and be super conservative and devoted only to find out later that I wasn't behind the real thing.

Does all of my devotion get flushed down the toilet? Is it fair that after all my work, God makes me rot in hell because I didn't know which religion was right? There isn't enough evidence to support the authenticity of any specific religion in the first place.

What do you think?

You dont know which one is right, no one does.* If you feel you need religion, pick one that feels right to YOU

*Assuming that even one is right

Aren't you happier being agnostic if you cant find a religion that you can adhere too :S?

I can't even explain how i feel about God.....all that jabberwocky without giving an indepth explanation that isnt worth the time it takes to tell hah.
Let alone match my beliefs to an established religion.

Ok. I don't believe in religion either. You see God never intende religion to exist, but people made it up to get money, and some just didn't have anything to do. DOn't join any of them. They're all wrong. Not one religio0n is right. You won't go to hell for not being in a religion. The bible never said that you had to join a religion. It said to do good in the world. people spend their whole lives inside a church, but they never practice what they learn in there. You don't need to be in a religion to go to heaven, just do good in the world, and help others. Religion is a fraud, and God hates it. He wishes everyone would stop making so many religions, and start doing good in the world

Well, agnosticism feels right for me. I'm just trying to make a point, that it's really not my fault if I don't end up believing in one of the Gods of the different religions and he turns out to be the one and only.

I agree with most of that. I think the most important thing is for people to be good and kind to all the living creatures. Whether there's a God or not.

I also don't see the logic in good people being thrown in hell for not believing in a certain God.
If you believe in "The God of the universe", then he knows who he is! lol

If you are given a freedom of choice for belief or adherence, you should be willing to accept any and all possible consequences of your belief afterward.  Why complain about the fact that you're given this freedom of choice?

What if I don't want that kind of extremely risky freedom? Nobody asked me. I didn't choose it.
If the God of one of the religions exists, then I don't mind having that kind of choice taken away instead of burning in hell for all of eternity because I was confused about the 1000 different religions in the world.
No one would want that kind of freedom. And the idea that a lot of good people will burn in hell because they followed the wrong religion is ridiculous IMO.

1. If God threw you into heaven because you believed in him, but in a way that he didn't like, he'd most likely be a dick anyway and you wouldn't want to be in heaven anyway.

2. you don't need to choose a religion. sit down and think about life and the universe and how it makes you feel. Think about what ideas seem logical to YOU. make your own life philosophy, its much more rewarding, and allows you to be MUCH more spiritual in your own way than you ever would be in some "pick-and-choose" religion.

You have both a freedom of choice and the freedom to exercise your choice, which is why you should spend more time studying or preparing the meaning for what you're to do with such choice in order to make any significant contribution.  Again, I simply fail to comprehend how both Atheists and Agnostics complain over the freedom of their choices, but disagree with the established faiths they knowingly find fault with.

Pretty sure I'd rather be in heaven with a dickhead God than in his hell.
I totally agree with the second part.

My point is, it's not logical or fair that (supposedly) good people go to hell for picking the wrong religion when there's no indication whatsoever on the authenticity of any of the religions. The freedom we're given (According to believers such as yourself) is a curse in this situation.

You have still failed to explain how the choice is a curse besides whining and moaning over how unfair the choices ultimately are.  It has been your choice to reject Jesus, therefore, if Christianity were ultimately Truth beyond mere preference, you should be willing to accept any and all possible consequences of your choices beforehand.
