well it takes away from the money the artists are getting so that's negative for them.
but people are still making money so that's a plus
and i like it so major plus there =]

Positive. Research and studies have shown that filesharing only increases one's exposure to new music and then people's chances of going to concerts and buying merchandise to support the band directly. The artists don't get much at all from CD sales.
