it is utterly fucking pathetic, especially in the ways of how one person i kno does it!!!!! naming no names *ahem* i kno my gf does it and i wish shd stop, id hate it if she died!!!! some people who do it are pathtic, i meant, not all!! i don't inflict pain upon myself, but i do see how people can begin to think that it takes away depression. i think that people like this just need someone to talk to to help them get over it. i guess it's like an addiction. once you start, it's hard to stop.

I can understand and empathize with people who self harm, but I do not "agree" with it. I think that there are healthier and more affective ways of coping.

I can understand why people do it. I don't think making it illegal or banning it in any way will stop people from doing it.

Why would making it illegal help? If they are gonna kill themselves it's not like they are gonna be around to face the penilty for doing it. An d if you are talking about people hurting themselves well people are gonna do whatever they want to do to themselves no matter what and that would be taking away a lot of rights if a person can't even have controll over what they do to their body. I'm not saying it is right but there is no possible way for it to be made illegal. And sucicide is just a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Life moves on and gets better.

i dont think many people here see self harm on the same level as a self harmer does. you may have done it in the past when you got mad or whatever, and thats one level of it. becoming dependant on it is another, one which seems alien to alot of you. it can be like any other addiction when it takes you over.
