It has the largest purse out of the other Majors due to the US Open Series leading up to the Grand Slam.
It still is 1000 pt toward their ranking with a victory in tine Final?
And more importantly, the series is the first jump back off grass court season leading up to the ATP Masters Cup, which happens to be played on Hard Court, as well.
