laptop cpus are specifically designed for lower power consumption and lower heat. I've even heard that often laptopt cpus are underclocked to that aim.

Even then, high end laptops don't last very long when just on battery power.

Might be possible... really don't see the point but.

You may be able to find a better laptop cpu and put that in...   even that seems a bit unlikely though, seeing as how proprietary laptops tend to get. Plus it'd probably void your warranty.
