Don't ask Livewire. I bet half the people are saying Columbia because it's an Ivy League and don't realize that Cornell is also an Ivy League.
Go to their websites and check out their engineering program on your own. Call the colleges and ask for information including obviously how difficult it is to get in, job placement, ask for a list of where their engineering students get jobs, and what other college programs theirs can be compared to. Also, ask if it is possible to shadow an engineering student for a day or two.

Doesn't mean it doesn't have a better engineering program. A lot of the best engineering programs aren't even in the Ivies.

And, yes, Cornell is the largest Ivy League school.

My cousin went to Cornell - not for engineering, so I can't really help with that specifically, but she loved the University itself. I do know that Columbia's engineering program is very good, one of my teachers was going for her masters at Columbia this past year. I don't know much about Cornell's program, though.

Columbia... Cornell suck. It's cold and it's in the middle of no where.

Plus Columbia have great dining hall food:)

Sure, Cornell may have a better program and stuff, but Columbia aren't far off. The question is whether you want to live 4 years in a cold tundra or live in NYC where there's a ton of stuff to do:)
