After months of self harming, i kicked it, i've stopped, i still get urges, sometimes i scratch once and want to scratch more, but i tell myself not to, no matter how good it feels, i'm so proud of myself, done it all by myself to.

one of the bullies(i've recently been bullied), we are just getting on for the sake of things, even though we hate eachother, we have the same friends and you can't ask them to choose between us, my confidence is growing, and while things arn't certain, i think things could just work out. It don't sound like much, but it is a sign of improvement, we can actually bare to talk to eachother, and from insults to that is an improvement.

these last few months have been like one long emotional rollercoaster, and while i've felt absolutely misrable, suicidal and all, i think i'm a lot better person, i'm more tolerant and i have better social skills from having to make new firneds and i've grown up a hell of alot.

My messageto those who just can't hold on, or self harm, don't, i know you've heard it so many times before, but things WILL get better. This is my way of thinking of things(try it):

when i was suicidal, i saw my life as one long thing (i'm going to use the metaphore of books/chapters), a never ending book, i didn't see things getting better, and i didn't imagine a happy ending and i just wanted to cut it short, is this how your feeling? i self harmed, to take my mind off it, concentrate on something else, when i found i prefered it to this "never ending book" i did it instead, trying to avoid "reading it".

What you have to do is try and imagine this "book" chopped up into chapters, some of the chapters will be happy, others will be sad, but you have to "read" the bad bits to get to the good bits and by reading the bad bits it will make the good bits even better.

I'm not going to say thats it's all part of life, yes it is natural to go through tough times, but if you ever self harm, or suicidal or depressed, then it ain't part of life and if you know someone that is going through any of those thigs, for god sake treat them like they are king/queen of the world, they ARE going through a horrible time and most often the only reason they do any of these things is cos they are waitin for something to end (in my case bullying), the only reason some hold on is cos they are waiting for things to get better, so for gods sake, do you bit to make their life better, and in turn, by doing so you will have made their life better to

jjust remeber, nothing lasts forever, not even the good times, thats why whn your going through the good times, help others to go get out of the bad times, cos next it will be you. If your going through a rough patch, talk it through with someone, but ALWAYS remember, it will end at somepoint, it could take 10 minutes, it could yake ten years, but it will end, and often others would be willing to help, they just don't know your going through a rough patch. and more importantly, when you see improvement, hold on to it, let yourself know that things are gettign better, things won't change over night, but when you notice things changing, you have something to be happy about.

sorry if i haven't helped one bit, it worked for me, i just though i would let people know so they can try it.
