Okay, so usually, I'm able to connect to his wireless network, but for some reason it won't let me...

On his desktop (which is also wireless), his internet is working fine.  But on my laptop, when it asks me to connect, I can connect, but I do not get any internet access.

Any help?  I called the linksys people twice, but they were of no help whatsoever.

Bitches, I'm back. Miss me much?

He probably has a MAC addy block, you'll have to go into the administration panel to change that.

I assume you've restarted, so my advice would be to reinstall the software for your wireless card or whatever.

He either has you blocked on the network, or maybe your wireless switch on your computer is not on.

If your brother is smart about computers, talk to him, if he isn't, then just restart your PC, make sure the wireless switch is 'on', and make sure you're configuring to the right IP address.

As you've said you can connect, just not access the Internet it seems that he might have static IP routing on. This means that the router doesn't automatically give you an IP address (as with DHCP), but you manually need to configure it in the TCP/IP settings box of your network connection in Windows.

This seems like the most likely case, and if he's done that, then he's probably knowledgeable enough to configure the settings for you.

If other people are going to use his network, it's probably simpler and more efficient to just turn on the DHCP server inside the router. Ask him if he can do this, as it will save a headache, and static IP routing doesn't really have any uses anyway (apart from in companies and institutions).
