Dear Support Leaders,

with no disrespect intended and by actually being carefull with how to word my message, I ask you what happened to being supportive?

A lot of topics in the support forums, Depression, Serious, Emotional and such fora are getting absolutely no attention, even when they are really screaming for it. Topics like users coping with sexual abuse, social isolation that leads into depression and simulair topics.

The eHelp isn't what it used to be neither. I've tried a few times to ask for help with subjects and I still haven't gotten even 1 responds. The eHelp I refer to has been posted about 7 weeks ago now.

Why is it that the rate of support is so incredibly low lately? If you guys aren't up for it, due to lack of time, experience or whatever. Why not try to recruit new Support Leaders?

EDIT [May 23rd]

Okay, seeing as the original topic has been moved from Deep Thoughts to Member-to-Mod and then to Support Leader Discussion I cannot reply. Seeing as I'm no longer a support leader. So if anybody can just quote this and post it there or something.. that'd be great. I'm not pm'ing this, because I have no frigging idea which support leader will stay online. Instead, I hope the edit function will work.

Anyways, in responds to the topic...

I do understand that the personal lives of many of the support leaders are preventing quality replies to those whom need it. In fact, after I posted the topic, one of the support leaders hit me up on private message and explained that to me. She said that support leaders have problems of their own as well.

However, that doesn't change the fact that support is too low to be acceptable. I've used the eHelp system a few times now for the same problem I've been facing. And I even gave the advice previous attempts to get help for it gave me from the support leaders. Not to forget mentioning why they do not work. Yet never the less I got replies on that eHelp which practically said the exact same thing, only with different words. And then I got harrased for 2 days to rate it.

Okay, maybe my problem wasn't so bad. But here are some current examples. All from the serious forums.
"How should I feel towards my father?" (May 21st)
Quote: " i'm utterly confused. someone shine some 3rd party objective light onto my problem."
It's about the topic starter's father having drug-related issues which leads to a malfunctioning family.
"Help please, I have a bad skin picking issue" (May 19th)
And there are numberous of topics from a member called Raging Inferno who, at least since may 3rd has been making topics asking for help with serious depression. All of the topics getting a whole lot of views, but still zero-to-one reply.

And that's just at first glance. There is bound to be a whole lot more in the forums that just needs not even ten minutes of your attention. Even a reply that somebody has read it and cares would suffice. Or that your private message box is open for them. But not even that is bothered with.

The support on this site is declining so dramatically fast, it's not even normal. I know a lot of the support leaders have this mentallity that somebody else will reply, or that they just don't have the time for it. Or if it's such a serious problem, why don't they call a proffesional? Or an attitude that if we, regular members, can do better, we should apply to become a support leader.

But isn't that against the whole intent of what a support leader is all about? Unless the definition has changed in the recent time, wasn't a support leader a supportive member who could always be reached if you have problems. Who is known to make supportive and helpfull posts whenever that is possible and takes all cries for help at heart?

You cannot tell me that the current support leader staff has been in a rapid decaying state of personal time for the past 6-8 months or that the problems have gotten that much worse.

Truth be told, I do realise that you guys do offer support every once in a while, at least. And this is not to be seen as a personal assault on any individual who happens to wear the Support Leader tag.

And before I get asked upon it, I was a support leader on a previous account, but when I got too busy to offer support on a regular basis, I resigned.

Have you seen the Serious Topic? There's 12 threads with no replies just in the first page, some are really heartbreaking! ...

What are they doing?  Do you get a tittle and then delete posts? Some people shouldn't even be an SL....

I understand that you guys have lives and all, i was one.. but come on, I've been following a topic for the past 3 days and still the girl who made it haves 0 replies, It's obvious she's desperate...

I saw one of her latest topics, she also made an Ehelp and got Zero replies! WHAT THE HELL?  ... Come on, It's not like there's only 10 of you.. Out of like 40?

None of you took the time to help the poor girl who's obviously having a horrible time... And she's not the only one.  I'm sad, really... I'm mad, and I'm ranting about it.

IF YOU'RE A SL, GO AHEAD AND SUPPORT.

I just hope the poor girl, among the other people who asked for help get help at least with a non SL member, because they're obviously not getting it there.

Sometimes it's just so hard though. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't really do random one off, generic responses. I read an eHelp once that had me in tears, because the poor person was just so unhappy, and I'm a bit soft like that.

It can be pretty tiring at times.

How about you guys become SL's, and help us out?

how the hell can you expect people to be supportive when the 'support' aspect of this site has gone down the toilet and when people feel routinely ignored?

im not saying i care any more, but seriously.

Great use of logic there. You're saying that I can't expect anyone to support because no-one is giving support? If that were the case, this site would have gone away a long time ago.

no, im saying you can't expect anyone to be supportive because the 'support' aspect has gone down the toilet, because this site is full of noobs and all the quality members have left/are leaving in droves....youre not going to get quality support from noobs. plus, like i said, peoples inputs are usually ignored, so what on earth do you expect from them?

Then you make an active effort to be supportive, regardless of the actions of others. I can, and so can you.
