depending on how thick they are, and if what youre painting is meant to be 3d, and the colours etc. or if its got patterns/ shapes, if they are workable on the extra fabric

I normally just carry the painting over the side, or just paint them black/white. They look terrible if you get bits of paint onto them by accident.
