I felt that high school accepted individuality and all that a lot more than middle school.
The whole transition part is confusing & it's normal .. even if you don't feel like you fit in completely freshman year, most people mature eventually & are more accepting.
Be friendly & look forward to it. It might be tough but it will get easier :)
