What do you guys use? My boyfriend and I only use condoms. We've been having sex for 3 months, and haven't had any scares, but I'm nervous they're not effective enough. We always check that it hasn't teared, because if it has I would take the morning after pill. I would go on birth control pill but it's too expensive and I don't want to put it on my parent's insurance. Is it ok to just use condoms?

go to planned parenthood.
you dont have to put it on the insurance or anything. & you can get the hpv shot and whatever kinda birth control you want, for free.
its okay to just use condoms, but its better to use somethin else too like the pill, shot or patch.

The patch is a cheaper, less tedious alternative. You have to go to a gynecologist and find out if that would work well for you, though. Yaz, a pill is $51, while a month's supply of Ortho Evra is $34. I'm not sure how accurate this is, as I just looked it up. You mention your parent's medical insurance, so theyre probably well aware that you and your guy are active. Get on the pill, then. It's not ok that you have to worry so much since you only use condoms....makes sex less enjoyable.  Best of luck!

For me the pill is so much more convenient, sometimes we will use condoms as well but I find them such a drag.. in more ways than one.

You can get it for free

That's nowhere near effective. You can get pregnant from pre-cum. And there's no reassurance he'll pull out in time.

Personally, I only use condoms, but there are other options outside of the pill. If you have one in your area, I'd advise a trip to a family planning clinic, they can give you free, confidential advice on birth control and can give you proper answers to any questions you might have.

Not everyone gains. And surely condoms are better than an unwanted pregnancy or an STI. Anyway, there are other options out there.

I'm on birth control so me and my boyfriend don't usually use condoms. I feel safe on the pill because I take it at the same time everyday.
