I have a maid. Yes she speeks english. It depends on what kind of maid you have. Our maid in my house cleans bedrooms, bathrooms basicly the hole house, cleans my pool and does some cooking.
We have money to just throw away on stupid stuff like maids and yes my family is comfortable with having one.
