I'm doing an art exam on Monday, and I'm having some problems.

I'm looking at the study sheet, and It says:

"Understand the formal organizations of paintings
- Movement
- Complementary colors"

What the hell does that mean?

It also says, "Aspects of lines".

Would that mean diagnoal, horizontal, vertical. Or, does it mean more?

Movement sounds like the techniques used that add a sense of movement to a painting, like accented brush strokes and the like, or brush strokes that all flow in a certain direction.

The colours then are the use of the colour, how they work together.

opposite colours are complementary to each other.

That's what I'm thinking anyway, not too sure about the last one though.

I understand that by movement they're talking about kind of the rhythm of the painting. Like the way all works toguether to make it flow in harmony... colors, lines, figures, shapes... everything coming toguether to make something.

The complementary colors it's like a scale. You know theres like the basic colors, yellow, red and blue... and the secondary that are made by mixing those colors, purple, green and orange... and then there's the complementary.. made by mixing primary and secondary.

That's an Image... If you don't get it, I'll explain a bit more.

And about the last thing, I think this explains it better that what I could say:
