I'm founding a web service (not for profit at the moment). Does anybody know how to go about getting the organization officially registered (state or other gov't) under our names?

I think you're supposed to apply for a trademark. Here in the states it costs about $350, not sure about Canada.

You're supposed to find a host, and then contact them... I know you need to buy some from them, and I'm pretty sure you then have to go to some form of gov't. I'm not quite sure how that works...
