no, it's too long and nobody uses they full lengths of those trucks unless you live out on a ranch and it's obvious that you don't. you could just get a more gas efficient and more compact truck that actually fits in parking lots without being a pain in the ass for everyone else.

Hey pal, you can shut your fucking mouth.

We bought it to tow our 25' Travel trailer (Expandable. It's a 2000 or 2001 Forest river Shamrock model.) because our 1999 Astro van has a V6 and gets 11 mpg (honest to god) when towing it. The suburban got 15 even towing it, at 75 mph. We sold it in March because the parents decided with the cost of fuel and repairs that it was needing (the Truck), it'd be easier just to sell it and use the van, and buy me my own car.. I was working 30 hrs a week JUST TO KEEP GAS IN IT. they paid ins./car payment, they told me to keep gas in it and i could say it's mine. However, the last three months of ownership I did pay some towards the payment. You don't know me, so shut your fucking mouth KID

and ALSO, that is the same chassis as a Silverado. The Tahoe of the same generation was at most, 8 inches shorter.. The chassis was about 6 inches longer on the Burban than it was the Tahoe. Same engines/transmissions/chassis mostly, was used. . They all shared the same shit. And if you can't maneuver a 88-98 suburban at all, then you shouldn't be driving. I did shit in that thing I could do in a cavalier. Had a MAJOR TIGHT turning radius.

i never said i knew you, and you don't know me so you're in no place to call me a child. but from what i can tell you're an insecure pompous fool. anyway, the length of the truck doesn't give it power so that has nothing to do with it, you still don't need a truck that long. it's just inconvenient for you and everyone around you.

i never mentioned anyone's ability to drive it, did i? i said that it's length makes it a nuisance to other people especially when the length isn't used because you aren't bussing people around, or filling it up for anything like construction or ANYTHING. if you are then i apolegize and take everything i said back but i highly doubt that you are.

you still don't need a truck that long. it's just inconvenient for you and everyone around you.
The suburban is:

Length: 219.5 in.
Width: 76.7 in.
Wheel Base: 131.5 in.
Height: 72.3 in.
Curb Weight: 5297 lbs.
Ground Clearance: 6.9 in.

The astro van is:

Length: 189.9 in.
Width: 77.5 in.
Wheel Base: 111.2 in.
Height: 74.9 in.
Curb Weight: 4186 lbs.
Ground Clearance: 6.8 in.

^ The above figures are straight from Edmunds.com , from the 1998 Chevrolet Suburban k1500 LT 4WD, and the 1999 Chevrolet Astro LS RWD.

My parents opted for the suburban over the tahoe as they blue book pretty much the same, the suburban had a longer wheelbase than the tahoe , which was pretty much almost the same as the van, the reason they didnt want to use the van was due to even with DUAL SWAY BARS ON THE TRAILER TONGUE AND A HEAVY DUTY TOWING PACKAGE, the vehicles still swayed massively going down the road. The tahoe would have too, the suburban was longer by a little bit, had heavy duty suspension, and the luxury touring interior and exterior package. That's why we got this. We were also looking at a 1994 or 95 2500 454 V8, but the 350 drew us in, it's a great motor.

You still are assuming things.

There's a reason my parents opted for the longer vehicle.

you still haven't stated a valid reason for needing such a long vehicle and are instead trying to put in arguments that have nothing to do with what i'm saying.

The main reason we bought it was to tow the camper on long trips comfortably, without the swaying going on. You must be one of those people who skims through a post, and doesn't see the fine print.

Gas prices set aside, thats a damn sexy truck. You know what, screw that last statement, high gas prices are for pussies, I would drive that now if it were given to me. As long as my car gets 10MPG at least, Im good.

like i said before, there are smaller and even more powerful trucks that can haul just as much if not more, without swaying. just because this suburban doesn't sway as much as a van, doesn't mean that is was the best choice for the job, that's 1 out of 2.
