right so, i'm having a blood test (because i constantly feel tired, have been for the past year or so)

when you've had the blood test and their examining it.. do they find out about other stuff too?
say (this is an example) could they find out if i was pregnant... or depressed... or something?

You can't diagnose depression with a blood test, you need a psychiatrist for that one.

They can detect pregnancy from blood tests, but I'm not sure if they will be testing you for that. You have the right to ask them what they are doing with your blood so, just ask.

nope, never had one before.

ooh.. my friend got diagnosed with depression after she had a blood test... (and her mum went to the doctors complaining of tiredness, they gave her a blood test and diagnosed her with depression)

Blood tests can detect depression, because there is a protein in the brain that can serve as a biomarker for depression.

And a blood test can detect pregnancy, yes. Anywhere between 7-12 weeks after conception.

well that's not true..
it's a condition to do with hormones.. lack or overproduction of certain hormones, which affects your state of mind.
