There's this one ATM near my university that still does fivers, it's the only ATM I've seen in the past few years that does it, and half the time it's out of notes anyway.
A lot of basic bank accounts these days have a £10 'grace' overdraft, so it you have less than £10 in you can still pull that full £10 out - no need for the £5 in the ATM any more I guess.
